Aquarius
January 20 - February 18
Emotions run high today, dear Aquarius, as a love partner calls on you to discuss some troubles. These don't directly concern you, but you still would like to see them straightened out, as you tend to feel helpless when someone you care for is upset. At times like this, it's really best to listen rather than try to give advice. Your partner probably just needs to talk it out. Be patient, and all will be well.

Nokia's N95
Wednesday, September 27, 2006

Your mobile phone may soon replace your PC. Meet the Nokia N95, an Nseries device designed to function as a computer and phone all at once.

Nokia N95 is a descendant of Nokia N80 and offers a first of its kind 2-way sliding construction along with many other high-end features. The integrated GPS functionality has been becoming increasingly popular in hand-held devices. Embracing that trend, Nokia N95 comes with an integrated GPS module which working alongside with the preinstalled Maps application can help you navigate through the busy city streets as easy as you would with a in-dash automobile GPS system. Besides that, it's the first HSDPA (3.5G) mobile of the Finnish manufacturer. HSDPA is not so wide spread right now but undoubtedly it would be the leading standard for fast data transfers to mobile devices in the future, Globe Telecom is the first company in Asia Pacific offering commercially available HSDPA service. Besides HSDPA, Nokia N95 features all other current connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, 3G and EDGE, quad-band GSM, stereo Bluetooth, Infrared and USB 2.0 plus a TV-out port, 160mb internal memory, microSD slot for expansion and top of that is a 5 megapixel CARL ZEISS optics, yep! 5mp!.

HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access, commonly referred to as ā€œ3.5Gā€) enables data transfer rates of up to 1.4 Megabits per second (Mbps) with peaks of up to 1.8 Mbps – rather than the previous 384 kilobits for 3G.With an HSDPA-data card for example, browsing the Internet on your laptop will be up to 25 times faster than dial-up Internet access.

Aquarius
January 20 - February 18
You may feel like going back to being a kid in junior high, dear Aquarius, just going through puberty and joining your pals in animated discussions about who likes who, and who is going out with whom. Follow up your whim with phone calls to close friends who would be happy to share in your whimsical nature. Wear red today in order to serve as a reminder of the radiance of your loving heart.

Aquarius
January 20 - February 18
Make your time spent with others much richer by contrasting it with time spent absolutely alone, dear Aquarius. You will find that the more energy you can focus on yourself and your own thoughts for a while, the more you will have stored up in your emotional battery to share with others when you are with them. Be more selfish with your energy in terms of making sure that your inner sanctuary is being attended to regularly.

Windows Vista RC1 Opens to general public
Friday, September 15, 2006

Early today, I visited the Windows Vista Page and I found out that Microsoft opened the doors to all comers who would like to test Windows Vista Release Candidate 1 (RC1). Testers can access the 2.52GB of data that makes up the next version of Windows either via download or on a DVD that will be sent in the mail.

To initiate either process, would-be testers should visit the Vista Get Ready page and click the "Get Vista RC1" link.

Before today, only previously registered members of the Microsoft's Customer Preview Program (CPP) -- the 1.5 million people who accessed Vista Beta 1 (like me) in the same fashion earlier this year -- were given access to RC1. Although Microsoft hasn't officially announced the number of new CPP registrants it will allow for RC1, some Microsoft executives had previously estimated that the number would reach an additional 1.5 million testers.

Symbian-to-PC worm on the loose
Saturday, September 09, 2006

A worm that can move from a Symbian phone to a PC has been reported by security experts F-Secure.

The Mobler worm doesn't have an automatic cross-platform spreading mechanism, but could be loaded by unwary users. It attempts to copy itself to all available media including USB drives and memory cards. On a Symbian device, it creates a Windows-executable installation package on the memory card. This can be seen by Windows Explorer when the device is connected to a PC.

Mobile malware has been slowly growing, with the first worm, Cabir, reported in 2004. Cabirspread from phone to phone by Bluetooth, describing itself as a software update. This method was also used by the Commwarrior Q worm, reported in August by F-Secure.

MMS has also been used to spread between Symbian phones, by the Commwarrior A virus, reported in March 2005. Other mobile viruses have been spotted, including three in January.

So far, virtually all mobile viruses attack the Symbian operating system, as this is by far the most popular smartphone operating system.
